Dear coaches, dear dancers,
we would appreciate it if you could help us improve and speed up the preliminary schedule creation process.
For these reasons, quite unconventionally, we would like to send you a preliminary interest questionnaire, according to which we can estimate whether one hall, more halls, or even more buildings will be enough for our competition.
As you certainly know, we are an organizer with a twenty-year tradition – the dancer, coach and parent come first for us. As educators, we respect the rule (if timely information about the number of participants allows us) that the MINI KIDS and JUVENILES categories dance until 8 p.m. with the announcement no later than 9 p.m. The second rule of our team is that we try to set the schedule in advance so that the competition demonstration at the titular competition (World and European Championships) are unabridged, i.e. two minutes long. Dancers prepare all year to demonstrate their dance performance to the judges and have the right to perform it seriously.
That is why we announced the competition as a three-day competition and the division into days will certainly soon be of interest to you, the coaches. However, without your help, we are unable to ensure the timeliness of the division and we will have to wait until the deadline. This makes the WADF different from other organizations because there is no final key according to which the competition can be prepared regardless of how many applicants are going to the competition.
Here is a link to an Excel spreadsheet with a list of disciplines: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1PS77YsX09V_qaU-WKGpg5NOlpDLHP3WB/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=102264727787120917098&rtpof=true&sd=true.
Please download the spreadsheet to your PC and indicate which discipline you are going to compete in. In column E titled “Your interest” in the attached spreadsheet, please fill in YES for each discipline you are interested in, or the number of competition units, e.g.:

The World Dance Championship 2025 in the Municipal Hall (Městská hala) in Jablonec nad Nisou is held according to the WADF international rules:

For each Stage discipline, the judges evaluates two criteria - 2D. For all disciplines, it is necessary to emphasize that the word “Artistic” in the name of the individual disciplines and in the name of the organization means “artistic” and this criterion (artistic value) is placed on the same level as technical value.
Watch the instructional (demonstration) videos at http://www.worldartdance.com/about-wadf/our-disciplines/
The disciplines are danced according to the frequency as:
- Solo: 1 dancer
- Duets and pairs: 2 dancers
- Trios: 3 dancers
- Small groups (Small team): max. 8 dancers
- Large groups (Large team): max. 16 dancers
- Showcase (production): 17 or more dancers
How to dance diferent disciplines:
Always during the 1st round and in the final (applies to solos, duos, couples to the organizer's music), the first half minute (large group) is danced first, then the dancers are divided into smaller groups and they dance again for 1 minute and finally together for half a minute. Meaning each dancer will perform 3 times infront of the judges in a given round.
In the next rounds and in the semifinals, the first half a minute is canceled. So each dancer will perform 2 times infront of the judges.
Disciplines where the dancers (or groups) dance to their own music in the order given by the assigned start number.
After the first performance in a given round, the dancers always line up behind the back of the dance floor next to each other according to the starting numbers, where they remain until their last performance.
The rotation on the floor and the division into groups is controlled by Floormaster and his assistant(s) so that the rules are complied with and none of the dancers misses their performance.
We look forward to seeing you soon in Jablonec nad Nisou with a motto: "FREEDOM FOR DANCE"!
